Allison and I packed all our stuff up and crammed it into our car. It was stuffed! Leaving the apartment was hard, we're sure going to miss it! I'm going to miss Provo a lot and I definitely had a lot of good times that i'll always remember. As we were leaving we knew we had to get rid of our cute little fish, Phil and Claire. We didn't want to get rid of them but knew driving home with them wasn't really going to work out. We pulled over and got out to drop the fish out into the pond. As we were saying our goodbyes we looked into the pond and realized they were most likely going to just get eaten within seconds so we thought just maybe we could go to Walmart and "return" them. We drove all the way over to Walmart and hid the fishes under Allison's scarf. We planned on just opening the tank and dropping them in. As you can tell we really didn't put that much thought into it because the tanks were locked. I finally just went up to a Walmart guy and told him the situation as Allison hid in the isles with a bag of fish, it was so funny! The guy said that if we didn't have a receipt of when we bought the fish then we couldn't put them back in. Plan failed. So we drove back over to the pond and dropped them in and hoped for the best. They had a good life.
After the slight delay from the fishes we were off! I remember Allison waking me up at 3 in the morning and telling me it was my turn to drive. Rewind to the night before where I was totally up for driving at 3 and told her I would do it. So when she tried waking me up at 3 in the morning I looked at her and said to her half asleep, "No, no you got this Al, i'm good..thanks though" and rolled over. It was pretty funny. Thanks Allison for taking one for the team!My parents told us to stay at a hotel one night but we knew we were going to wake up 4 or 5 hours later and drive. And we were okay with sleeping the car for a few hours so we pulled into a hotel parking lot and crashed. Technically we did sleep at a hotel :) I can definitely say the highlight of the drive was singing for hours in the car. Sometimes when there is nothing else to do and there is absolutely nothing on the radio you just have to pop in a Celion Dion CD and sing. And we sang..we sang really loud. Sometimes we would get so into the song with hand motions and such that we would just start bursting out laughing. As great as the road trip was, I was so happy to get home!
